Dr. Elsa Marie Obén

Elsa Marie Obén

Dr. Elsa Marie Obén is an independent practitioner of Oben Health Services, LLC who also provides services at Hammond Psychology & Associates, P.A. She is a psychologist licensed to practice in the state of Florida. Dr. Obén provides Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and other evidenced-based therapies to children, adolescents, and adults. She helps patients with emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship problems. As part of her practice, Dr. Obén conducts assessment to individuals with psychological disorders including ADHD, learning disabilities, depression and anxiety. Dr. Obén also assists with gifted and school entry evaluations.

Dr. Obén has experience providing psychoeducation to children, adolescents and families on better management, understanding, and acceptance of Type I diabetes. Moreover, Dr. Obén has actively participated in seminars and published articles in newspapers addressing the treatment of children diagnosed with Type I diabetes.

Dr. Obén has a doctorate degree from Carlos Albizu University. Dr. Obén recently completed a fellowship with Hillsborough County Public Schools. During the fellowship, she provided counseling services to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties. She speaks both English and Spanish.

Brittany Burkes, M.A.

Brittany Burkes, M.A. is a disabled veteran and a doctoral student entering her third year in the Clinical Psychology program at the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. After serving three years as a Construction Electrician in the U.S Navy Seabees, she was medically discharged due to a service-connected injury. After graduating from the University of Illinois-Springfield Campus in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Brittany became a Juvenile Detention Officer (JDO). During her time as a JDO, Brittany performed group and individual counseling sessions. Brittany has also provided informal counseling for teenagers who had suicide plans and worked with them to developed safety plans.

Brittany has completed psychological assessments to aid in differential diagnosis and treatment planning. She conducted psychological assessments that were used to assess for the attention-related disorder, depression, anxiety, learning disability, conduct disorder, personality disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. Currently, Brittany provides psychological services for children, adolescents, college-aged students, and adults for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida. Brittany’s interests involve trauma and the psychopathology of military service members and their families.  She is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Hammond and Dr. Oben.

Jennifer LaTreill, M.S.

Jennifer LaTreill, M.S. is a doctoral graduate student entering her third year in the Clinical Psychology program at the Florida School of Professional Psychology (FSPP) at Argosy University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the University of North Florida in 2010. She obtained her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2012 and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as FSPP. Jennifer will be providing services under the supervision of Dr. Hammond and Dr. Oben.

Jennifer has worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, clinical institutions, and the private school system. She currently provides services to children with emotional and behavioral concerns at a clinic for children with autism. Jennifer has also provided mental health counseling and ABA services to children and adolescents at Keystone Behavioral Pediatrics in Jacksonville, Florida. Her passion includes working with children and adolescents, trauma resolution, and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Foyin Bademosi, M.S.

Foyin Bademosi M.S. is a doctoral student proceeding to her 3rd year in the Florida School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Covenant University, Nigeria. She obtained a Master’s degree in the Foundations of Clinical and Health Psychology from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. As a result of her passion for volunteering and service, she volunteered in mental health institutes and care homes in Sri Lanka and also taught the English Language classes to children in rural parts of Sri Lanka. She also worked with Reconnect Health Development Initiative, Nigeria to create awareness about mental health and educate the community to minimize stigma associated with mental illness in Nigeria, via community outreaches. Additionally, she is passionate about working with the underserved population and she currently volunteers with Florida Special Olympics.

Foyin has experience with working with individuals diagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorder. She also has experience with psychological testing related to ADHD, depression, and personality assessment and will be providing psychological evaluations at Hammond Psychology & Associates, P.A. under the supervision of Dr. Oben and Dr. Hammond.

Mae Caldorni

Mae Caldorni is the office staff/receptionist who always provides a friendly smile and warm, caring voice answering your questions and phone calls.  She has been working with Hammond Psychology & Associates, P.A. since April 2013.   Her previous experience includes working as an office manager for a dental office, sales, and customer service.  Hammond Psychology & Associates, P.A. appreciates Mae’s sense of humor and caring nature while she works with clients and staff.

Mrs. Caldorni is very knowledgeable about the services offered at the practice, so feel free to call her with any questions you may have.  More than likely, she will make you laugh or smile — she is great at that!
